Preservation

Starts With You

The SPPA protects old and rare breeds of poultry through breeding, exhibition, and outreach.

The world’s desire for rapid development and over abundant egg laying has resulted in a severe loss of genetic diversity in our cherished poultry breeds. Without dedicated and passionate individuals preserving these genetic treasures, these breeds will surely be lost to time. Our club aims to protect, develop, exhibit, and preserve old and rare breeds of poultry for future generations.

Our History

Founded in 1967 to protect and preserve, for historical, educational, and recreational purposes and in the public interest, standard-bred, domesticated poultry, waterfowl, turkeys, and guineas.
